Stirring up cookie dough, gonna have chicken/ bacon wraps for supper! πŸ˜‹

Hello from 762 St Nicholas Ave.... What to write about? I guess just our daily.... moments, hours...all rolled into one grateful " I'm happy to be here in NYC, service to our Lord and King! "     Just been Monday all day, nothing negative.... laundry, a little house cleaning, Ron cleaned the " hole" upstairs, where the ladder is to go on the roof....it looked like a mini tornado had touched down and Mama was tired of it! I got up there to help, just as Ron was finishing up!     Supper inspiration comes from a HUGE food donation from the pantry! The guys came home on Friday weighed down....( Then they forgot to tell me for a whole hour, about the food in the basement! ) 4 big bags of French fries, 2 boxes of pizza dough, 3 bags of frozen French pastries, 4 bags of breaded chicken and 2 bags of soggy onion rings. Don't get me wrong....I love onion rings, but this was beyond, so they found a good home! The intentions are SO noble and good....Dede packs it up f...

Goodbye Alex 😒 Hello Shane 😊

Good day to all! The calendar announces that it is the first day of Autumn 🍁!!! Happy Fall!! The weather is cooler and we are loving that!!    I'm home alone, Ron went with Spencer and David on tract route. A driving route and in the Bronx, I do believe! Beings it's Monday, the washer and dryer have been my companions!! I ate some lunch, a little of this and a little of that! Did a little house cleaning and got groceries etc around for supper.... spaghetti with meat sauce, Caesar salad, green beans and fresh baked bread. ( If I remember, more on that later. ) Home this evening...   We said goodbye to Alex, early morning on Friday. We had started with the tears already on Thursday.... Alex's gift to Papa was a NYC t- shirt and his to me....was a tote bag, had been looking at them, a vase of flowers and chocolates 🍫. ( My boys will keep me never wanting, when it comes to chocolate! ) Alex and I stood at the kitchen counter and visited a bit and cried...he says I will prob...

Bits and pieces of unit life...

Good afternoon! Time again to type about our lives...Ron and I both had a long nap, too many midnight nights and a person does get weary! This morning consisted of laundry, last load is in the dryer. It fortunate that for the most part I enjoy laundry 🧺!! I had other jobs to attend too also, so it was a busy morning! Ron was down in the tract room for quite some time. He is working on the tract route system....not sure what all, but said he wasn't done! Roger, Alex and Spencer are on a walking hand out tour today. Wanting to dine at a Brazilian restaurant at noon. David and Tyson are at Lincoln. This evening is Alex's eat out, the restaurant, what time we are leaving, is not for us to know at this time! He invited Roger and Elsie to join us! He leaves on Friday morning....😒 The time just flies over here and now we are looking at saying goodbye again!      Personal note: we are excited!! Our oldest granddaughter, also our oldest grandchild is engaged and was announced ye...

a happy thankful...when Elsie tells me that she is the jean mender!! I said..." wonderful!" πŸ˜„

Good day! Our day is sunny and the feel of the air is fall! ( I'm ready! Tyson and I are both ready for sweater weather!! ☺️ ) I just got in not too long ago, from walking to the mailbox....nice little stroll and no, no - one is ever alone! I passed various people, some looked like they had places to go and hurried along. One lady was deeply engaged in a Spanish conversation on the phone, another man overtook me, stepping spritely and faster than me....I noticed he was carrying a what appeared to be a heavy bag of groceries. I know that feeling too.... just hurry and get home with the load! Elsie came out of their apartment and I mentioned that I needed to show her a pair of jeans to mend....I wanted to get some light on the subject....refer to title and I was a happy camper!!! πŸ˜‚ I will give her a 2nd pair also!!  Ron, Alex and Tyson went on tract route today....I think they were driving to Staten Island. Ron just messaged and yes they went to Staten Island! Eating lunch at a dine...

a addendum...☺️

A post script, especially to the boys mothers! As Eric Pobee told us in one Bible study: " In the movies, they sometimes say, " One. Moment. Later.    That is how I'm feeling with this added PS!! πŸ˜‚ Sunday evening, around the supper table, talk all of a sudden centered around, what Thomas had beheld when he was here in the unit. Of a couch being brought onto a subway train. So then 4 guys with mischievous gleams in their eyes, said let's do it.....so from the basement emerged 2 old recliners!! 2 boys each to one recliner...and Clay went along for moral support, but ended up claiming to be embarrassed of his friends! They carried them to the subway, and they said, people at the Comedy club right next to Subway said, " they are stealing furniture" No hollered Tyson, they are ours! So onto to the subway train, they went....I will leave you to imagine, if they reclined in them or not!! Out at 116....they had a offer of 100 bucks for the one!!! We say, next time....

Holiday fun and then back to " real" life!! 😍

Hello! I guess I will start a blog, really I don't have very much time. This evening is men's Bowery service, so need to leave by 6:00. I've had a busy day....we partied yesterday, so that means catch up work today!! Plus we made our Tuesday noon jaunt to Lincoln to sing.... David and Tyson were in some kind of orientation, seemingly only takes about 10 minutes and theirs stretched to 45 minutes! So we sang quartet for the 1 patient, that is until I went to coughing and it changed into a trio!!! πŸ˜ƒ Today my throat seemed irritated, sometimes I wonder with all the germies we breathe in and already have throat/ cough issues, how is this ever gonna be so healthy in the long run??! One encounter in a patients room, involved us surrounding his bed, and the patient then had a prayer πŸ™ in another room, it appeared that lady patient in bed A was sleeping, we sang to lady patient in bed B.... once done with Amazing Grace, I stepped, as to go out and lady patient A was weeping. So w...

Good times with company! πŸ’–

Good morning from the city! It's another beautiful, clear & lovely day here in the city!!! Been having some awesome weather! Well it's Tuesday, another week has passed us by and another week to blog! πŸ˜ƒ A quote to start: " Speak words that rebuild the torn down places in others."  ....it seems like I need so many reminders...to ALWAYS be kind and compassionate!  Another peek into our lives.... last Tuesday, I blogged.... David was the chef for supper and I think I said he was doing Indian food, not so....he made Marry Me Chicken, a recipe his sister helped him with! It is served over noodles and very tasty! Of course the name of the dish, attracted some interesting discussion!!! 😁 After supper, we all jumped in the van and drove to Astoria in Queens to Martha's bakery. Didn't disappoint! We sat outside and I ordered a chocolate chunk cookie and it came to me, warm,  gooey and very inviting!!! πŸͺ Once home, we practiced songs for sing out! Wednesday evenin...
