A departure and a arrival... and life moves on! 🛫🛬

Hello! Another day, another week...how about that? Been busy with laundry, did a little house cleaning and some other little odds and ends that need doing! Like putting coins in roll wrappers, once Ron takes it in, a little extra for the slush fund! We all throw our coins into this glass container!  Sunny day, on the warm side... after lunch, Ron and I walked to the Post office and mailed off 2 packages. The air con felt good upon returning! Alex and Tyson are home, been on a walking hand out tract tour today! Been in the Bronx today and went to a crab place for lunch and to Chick- fil- A for a peach shake.. Spencer and David spending the day at Lincoln and not home yet! This evening we have Tribeca service, so plan on leaving around 6. I hope Clay and Dana join us! Supper later.... A quote today surrounding Dennis the menace!! " My mom says I look like an angel when I'm sleeping. It's the awake part I keep havin' trouble with. "  😂 Me too! Tuesday, August 5, ear...

It's Monday, so that means laundry....and various other duties that take my time and effort!

Hello! Nice day here in the city. I'll get started on my blog, not promising no finish today . This evening is Jordan's eat out and he has made reservations for 6. So that means we leave the house at 5 or so. Quote of the week: A little girl was holding 2 apples, her mother asked for one. The girl quickly bit one apple, and then the other. Her mother held back her disappointment. Then the girl handed one to her saying: " Here this is the sweeter one." Moral: Never Judge. Last Tuesday, supper was early and Clay's joined us and Alex did the cooking! He grilled steaks and baked sweet potato fries and stirred up a mean fry sauce. Dana brought a Caesar salad. All was good! Like it felt like we were eating in the middle of the afternoon.....for us anyway! Left the house shortly after 5:30 and caught the A train and rode a long ways.... basically down to Rockaway Beach.... caught a shuttle train somewhere in there, did some walking and arrived down where a water taxi the...

rats....too many rats....those horrid rodents! PS: they stink horrible while decaying....🥴

Good warm greetings to each of you! HOT, would be better said! It's 98*, with a real feel of 104*! Our apartment feels good though!  Quote to share with you... The real luxuries in life: time health  a quiet mind slow mornings ability to travel  rest without guilt  a good nights sleep  calm and " boring" days meaningful conversations  home cooked meals  people you love  people who love you back  Singing at the hospital.... it's a special time, although at times it seems like the encounters are few! But I also know, that we will never know what a song, smile and a bit of cheer, how and when that it will have a impact on someone's life! This afternoon, we stopped at one room and no they were not interested at all, but the nurse stopped me in the hallway, and said so and so in the bed by the window will....he was right, lady relatives were reading in the Bible and yes, they gladly listened.... another lady sang along, although it would be a stre...

Thankful for rumble strips besides the highway and countless other little things! 😊

Hello, it's Monday.... time to reach out to our loved ones again! I've been home alone today, Ron has been with Jordan and Alex on the tract route. They went into Yonkers today and ate at Longhorn for lunch! Now that sounds like home to me!!!!!  Quote from me to you, " It's not our job to fix people, change people or judge people. It's our job to love people. The rest is in God's hands. "  I've done laundry today, jeans and swimming trunks over banisters, chair backs and various other places to dry! Bed sheets, towels and rags, clothes.... ironed Ron's shirts....and so it has been a good clean day! Since I was home alone, I took the chance to listen to both church services from home yesterday....I don't do this too often, because of the loneliness.... wants to attach itself onto. It maybe works a tad better to stay a bit disconnected! We did rejoice with the home congregation with a reacceptance of a youth boy!!  We are looking forward to Thurs...

And so the barber man said, when asked, if he wanted a rack in his shop..." I love the Lord, but where do I find room for the Lord?"

Good morning! Skies are cloudy and rain is possibly coming!! It sounds like umbrellas will be needed this evening.... maybe...we have Tribeca service, so best be prepared!  The quote I chose for this week's letter 💌  " I love it when God interrupts my thoughts and reminds me the battle is His, not mine. "  Tuesday, July 8... Our morning off, but was somewhat a little more encumbered, with the affairs of the day.... because Elmer and Mary Ellen were coming for supper and David's orientation! We did go to Lincoln to sing, Jordan and Spencer had train troubles, so got there late. Alex, David, Ron and I got started and sang quartet for a bit. Kind of a " dead" day, really no pun intended.... some patients were non- verbal...so we trust somehow that God did His work and we were his messengers! Elmers got here around 5, soon the guys and men all went down stairs to the social hall to have the orientation. ( Rogers couldn't join us this time, their children, J...

Hello! My day has been busy, fast approaching later afternoon....in between laundry loads, I will at least start this! Ron, Jordan and Spencer went on a tract route to Yonkers today. They were home for a late lunch at home! Usually doesn't happen, so was thankful that Elsie shared her white BBQ chicken from yesterday with me! Alex and David went to Lincoln and they are not home yet.... spaghetti and meat sauce for supper! Texas toast and green beans....Dana also left her ice cream dessert here, so Rogers and us sharing that too! Impressed with a quote I noticed on status: pray twice  if you catch yourself judging someone, pray twice. once for the person you are judging and once for God to change how you react to something you have never walked. make this a practice. wear it out, until it feels automatic. then watch your heart soften for a world that doesn't always think the way you do. you don't have to understand someone in order to love them. wash.rinse.and repeat as need...

A hot sunny day greeting to all! The cities with all their asphalt, steel, buildings, seldom much wind and then the blaring sun makes for some very hot walks!! But we buck up and try not to complain too much.... about hot subway platforms and hope, yes hope that you land up in a air conditioned subway train car! Cold restaurants and cold shopping stores are always on the want list also!! I will share a quote, I like: It might just be a sense of peace when things are chaotic. It might be hope when things feel impossible. It might be the strength to serve someone who annoys you. That might be what His nearness looks like today as His spirit empowers you to look like Christ. But ask for His nearness. Expect it.  I wrote last Monday and in the evening was Wade's eat out and it was a good memory making evening! He chose Trinity place, which is a restaurant inside a old bank vault! We all chose different things off of the menu, besides Alex and I each had steak. It was good eating! We wa...
