June 1- another new month!

Hello to all... Lovely day here in the city! Blue sky with fluffy white clouds.... sunshine to cheer us on!
My happy place: Facts, feelings, people we love and places to go!
* Picnic supper, sub sandwiches, grapes, chips and Oreos.... plus some veggies to stick in sandwich. Everything but drinks stashed away in the Zabar roller bag
* Papa, Tim, Jamin, Carson and I ( we missed Ethan)
* Destination: Bottom of Brooklyn, over a hour train rides, beautiful park, right close to the Verrazzano bridge!! Each of us made our sandwich and we had supper....it tasted so good out in the fresh air!
* 3 uninvited guests...2 squirrels and 1 too close and friendly pigeon. The pigeon's beady eyes came ever closer and I was ready to protect my sandwich!
* Pickle ball for the guys
* Ron and I walked down to the water, Verrazzano bridge loomed close, the airplanes overhead with their " night lights" on, the sun setting behind the buildings, the rays on the water.. awesome! 3 guys joining us, good conversations and then the walk back to the train.

* Ethan's family arrived! Thursday evening....so happy to meet Sheldon, Robin, Lawren, Cherith and Marcus Litwiller. They are from Filer Idaho. Hesston folk... remember Robin living in Moundridge and coming to Hesston? It was so fun to re-connect with Robin and she still has her spontaneous giggle!! They have a lovely family and we thoroughly enjoyed their visit! Lots of good conversations and laughs! ( They left this morning....boo hoo...)

* Guys left after supper on Friday evening....it was the evening for the Manhattanhenge... when the sun sets perfectly in line with the street and between the tall buildings....( at 42nd street?) and after we got the dishes squared away, Ron and I went to Riverbank park....but way too many clouds rolled in and there was no sunset to admire....for any of us. Nice walk anyway!! Met Darrel and Darla...on a walk also!

* Ever wonder why freaky things happen? Saturday morning, while making breakfast for 11 of us ...I got the sugar container down, out of the cabinet and somehow lost my grip and the whole thing dropped, container busted...and there was 8# of white sweet goodness on the kitchen rug and floor! I could have cried!!!!

* Ron and I left mid afternoon and went to South Ferry and boarded the Staten Island ferry....there was some sailboats supposed to be racing and we wanted to watch.... from a distance! Actually they were Catarman's and they move right along! Race to start at 3:30 and there was nothing going on... Waited at Staten Island for the 4:30 ferry and on our way back there was a little activity. Maybe 4 Catarman's out there. From there we went to Brooklyn and went to Time Out Market. We were hungry, so grabbed some snack. A walk by the Carousel, down to the water to sit for a bit! Met our guys, Ethan and his family at Grimaldi's for supper. Yum!! We all stayed together after supper, first viewed the picture perfect view on Washington Street.... where the Empire is centered underneath the Manhattan bridge piller. Then we walked the Brooklyn bridge..... beautiful, beautiful sunset scenes!! I can look at the skyline forever!!

* Sunday... breakfast for 11. Church.... company... Logan and Evangeline, Clay's sister... they are from Bonners Ferry. Laurence and Berniece had a reunion in PA and 2 couples joined them yesterday. Darin, Lana and Logan Reimer from Beausejour and Patrick and Becky from Lakin. Plus Tony, Shelly and Peter. Darin had the introduction, Sheldon the sermon and additional thoughts by Patrick. Lunch was roast beef and we were 30. We stayed home in the afternoon and tried to relax .... everyone else did some sight seeing of some sorts. I fixed supper...we were 17. Little Poppy seed sandwiches and chips, apples and rice krispie squares. In the evening a lively game of pictionary was played... let's just say at times it was LOUD!! ( Ethan's family came back for supper and evening! Loved that! )

I had much laundry today, still at it... cleaning...had the apartment to myself for some of the day. Ron went on tract tour with Tim and Carson... Ethan and Jamin to Lincoln. This evening is Tim's eat out.

I had to laugh this morning, but really wasn't so funny...I was folding laundry in our bedroom... when Carson comes running back up...he calls...Mama....there he stands wondering if I already had washed the jeans? Well they were washing right then...but anyway he missed a step or something this morning on the front steps and had some kind of roll over. Bummed up his elbow a bit.... evidence on the light blue jeans, didn't lie....on this roll over he came in contact with a purple flower and a green leaf....so he stripped his jeans and ran up for another pair!!! 😁 I'm just glad he wasn't hurt worse!! He quickly set the black tote down with tracts, before he spilled that!

* This is life at 762 St Nicholas Ave!!!

* Tim's last week here....new boy on Saturday evening! Andrew Koehn from Glenn CA. Jonathan and Nicole are his parents. 6 weeks has rolled by again??? We will miss Tim greatly and need to treasure the last week....

Goodbye and love from Mama Carol
