" Goodbye - Hello- Goodbye" that has been our last several days, what about you? 😍

Greetings from the city that never sleeps... Sometimes that commodity of sleep seems in short supply at 762 St. Nicholas!! It's a beautiful day!! I'm loving the weather!!  I'm having a quiet day....I'm the only one home here....in the whole building!!! But one has only to take trash outside, just barely out onto the front patio and noise hits you instantly!!! Loud talking...it seems that is what most people do best here in the city....talk and laugh loudly!!! 😁 I guess it's in their genes!! Our new boy, Andrew, Ethan and Ron are on a walking hand out tract tour... Carson and Jamin are at Lincoln. I hope Carson is having some measure of success with his training modules, one time passcode and hopefully in the very near future a badge! Getting these badges is a headache!!! This evening is Tribeca service....eat out supper later. Our first goodbye was to Tim...we love him, we miss him... but we also wish him the absolute best!! It hardly seems like yesterday that we w...

June 1- another new month!

Hello to all... Lovely day here in the city! Blue sky with fluffy white clouds.... sunshine to cheer us on!  My happy place: Facts, feelings, people we love and places to go! * Picnic supper, sub sandwiches, grapes, chips and Oreos.... plus some veggies to stick in sandwich. Everything but drinks stashed away in the Zabar roller bag * Papa, Tim, Jamin, Carson and I ( we missed Ethan)  * Destination: Bottom of Brooklyn, over a hour train rides, beautiful park, right close to the Verrazzano bridge!! Each of us made our sandwich and we had supper....it tasted so good out in the fresh air! * 3 uninvited guests...2 squirrels and 1 too close and friendly pigeon. The pigeon's beady eyes came ever closer and I was ready to protect my sandwich!  * Pickle ball for the guys  * Ron and I walked down to the water, Verrazzano bridge loomed close, the airplanes overhead with their " night lights" on, the sun setting behind the buildings, the rays on the water.. awesome! 3 guys join...

I kissed both of my grandies goodbye and handed them back to their parents...aw, such bittersweet moments! 💕

Good day to all readers of my blog...the sun, ( by now ) is shining....has been a somewhat gray day. Yesterday was simply gorgeous! The washer machine is still churning out a last load. Been a busy day.... cleaning and laundry! This morning, after breakfast...which was Dutch Babies...( one of Maeli's favorites) Rod and Megz, packed up and out...we jumped in the Sugar Hill mission van and took them to JFK to fly the friendly skies to Seattle. They had a 6 hour flight, so a longish day with sick children. Both Maeli and Kian have nasty colds and of course weren't feeling top dog with that. Hopefully they did a lot of sleeping on the homeward way!  This evening is Bible study & sing-out. Tim is leading the lesson and discussion this evening. On the table lays the lesson, Protecting the Heart. First though, we got invited to Darrel and Darla for supper....so we will go down one floor at 6. Bless her kind heart 💜!! She thought I was a little busy... guys worked at Bronx pantry ...

Has summer arrived? It's 87*... feeling like warmth is the name of the game! Butt wait, what about rain and cooler temps on the weekend?

Sunny day greetings to everyone who reads my letters!  Carson and Ethan just got home from Lincoln, they reported a pretty good day!! Papa, Tim and Jamin are on a walking tract route. I know at one point they were down in Brooklyn. I expect them home soon! This morning at the breakfast table, I proclaimed that I was home alone today!! The guys laughed at Mama's excitement and I asked them , " how they spelled BLISS??" 😂 We are home this evening.... Just had a busy morning of laundry, some cleaning and a little other catch up work from the weekend etc. I answered the doorbell at one point to find a nice looking Spanish couple... maybe our age or older? English was very broken and I had some trouble understanding them!! They were here for tracts and some Bibles. By hand motions and some guess work we gathered they wanted a box of English tracts and 1 of Spanish. I ended up getting a phone number and turning it all over to Darrel and they will come back next Monday!! What t...

It truly felt like Monday today, anyway first off, the breakfast didn't turn out quite like I envisioned!!! 😒

Hello... my enthusiasm to be starting a letter @ 4:20 pm, with plans for the evening.... seems about zilch, but I guess when I tackle it later, at least I'm started! That is as far as I got on Monday! 👆So it's Tuesday morning and another beautiful sunshiny day! ( As for my Monday feelings, those are gone!! For breakfast, my menu was Dutch Babies, bacon and scrambled eggs. Well the Dutch Babies never made it to the table!!! I melted the butter in the pan, made my batter and stuck them in the oven! I would open the door to observe and they looked strange!! It dawned on me, when opening the door to the microwave to warm up the syrup.... there sat the rest of the melted butter!! They didn't poof over the pan, stuck on the bottom and looked heavy!!! Then late afternoon, Ethan came into the apartment from upstairs to announce that there were many tiny miniscule red bugs crawling around on the jeans hung over the banister! I took Papa up with me for moral support and to investiga...

" a nice breath of fresh air, company from home 🏡!! Thomas and Kaci...so good to see them!

Good morning from NYC, in the springtime!! Lovely sunny day and temperature is now at 66*! Like I mentioned, so good to be with Thomas and Kaci! Ron and I went to get them from LaGuardia on Saturday afternoon. They settled in here for 2 nights. Rest of Saturday afternoon we just sat here and visited. Come supper time we parted, they went to Da Gennaro and rode the Staten Island ferry. Yesterday, beings it was Sunday, they were here for worship, lunch and supper. They cleaned up the guest apartment and moved out this morning, booked a hotel for the rest of their stay! Enjoyed their stay much and felt like I got to know Kaci better! 💜 It's Monday, so normal Monday happenings... like laundry, clean up the house. Enjoyed the table conversations as Thomas asked the boys about the personal at the pantries etc and we laughed and talked about some old memories. Good times!! We are home for supper this evening...Ron and I settled on grilled steaks, baked potato and green salad. Buttered an...

" as I sit in my recliner, I listen to the singing, guys practicing for Wednesday evening!! "

Sunny greetings from NYC... It's 66* and it's been a beautiful day!!  So, we bid goodbye to Caden ( sob, sob ) he winged his way back home to Durham!! My, this doesn't get any easier!! Caden found it tough to leave... time just flies here in the unit....6 months, we barely say Hello and then can it be.... goodbye!! But with every goodbye is a merry Hello!! This time it is a young man from Macon Mississippi, with a name of Carson Smith! His parents are Travis and Chassidy. Carson has 2 sisters and a brother. He is a talker, friendly and doesn't know a stranger!! We welcome him heartily into our " family"!! Darrel and Darla have flown the coop!!! 🤗 As soon as the guys got home from their driving tract route.... Darrel's met them outside and jumped into the van & headed to Hartford CT to spend a little time with Monroe and Shauna Nichols. They plan to return tomorrow sometime!! Hope they enjoy their little mini vacation. Alistair, our friend and attendee...
