Listen to the singing...

Hello from 762 St. Nicholas Ave...
A list of my thankful 's and my happy place
1. My first breakfast and supper are over with AND it was fun!
2. " Our" boys, we love them and the way they are so good and easy.....I know that telling Randy's goodbye was hard for them, and yet they welcomed us and we feel like a unit.
3. The singing...I truly feel sorry for you all, who can't hear the chorus coming from our little apartment this evening, heavenly...how did we get so lucky, to have a perfect quartet.
4. Laughs and lots of talking at meals...even breakfast!
5. Wednesday evening Bible study, sing- out and supper around our table....Rogers, Clays and Allister made it happen...
And the list goes on and on....

And now for a little update on our lives since Sunday...
Monday.....so Randy, Roger and Ron...O did you see they are all R's?? Anyway, they went to the bank....did all the things that were needful for Ron to also be on the books. Rachel and I were deep into finding out about this and that about mama life, groceries, laundry and all my questions. We also went to Lincoln hospital, where the guys work and Roger, Elsie and Rachel also volunteered. Got a hospital tour....met some of the contacts. Went to a sandwich place for lunch. In the evening, Randy's and the boys went out for Randy's eat-out....Rogers and us went out too...we first shopped REI....then went to Katz.....a sandwich place too, with their much loved pastrami.....we shared sandwiches.....and fries. We walked over to Grand Central station....looked for places to Carol.....and also went to Bryant Park. Watched the humans ice skating and marveled at the beauty of the Christmas lights. Home before the unit...but visited once they got back

Tuesday.... Randy's packed and left by 11:30.... And all of a sudden we were left with the unit boys!! We moved from 4th to 3rd....and it felt good to put our possessions away! @ 1, Rogers and us took subway to the Yankee stadium and got off and walked away to a little Mexican cafe....Ron and I shared flauta's....then we went shopping...Food Bazaar and BJ,'s...like a Costco or Sam's. And thanks for the groceries!!! At BJ's we only spent a portion of your earnings!! Time was starting to be against us ...then we located the crippled van and went home in it... after the fender bender....the steering provided some entertainment! Then to unload the load....put it all away...and hurry upstairs and get showers and by shortly after 6, walk back to the subway. This evening, we went to Bowery Mission, service at 7....sang 10 songs and Roger had some thoughts. Walked in the icy wind to Dim Sum Palace and feasted on Chinese food. Thomas and Jesse ordered the food. The restaurant was SO noisy....with loud talking and drunken activity....in fact one older man, tried in his stupor to stand beside his chair and ended up with a loud crash on the floor. No big deal, willing hands put him in back in chair! It took another man to walk the swaying man out the door!! Why did the other man look at our table while walking out and say sorry???

Wednesday, I had LOTS of laundry, finished settling into our digs....made muffins and some of the supper...Bible study in the evening and sing- out....and supper around our table. Rogers, Clay and Dana and Allister joined us...Elsie warmed up smothered enchiladas....I did Mexican rice and a green salad. Elsie had cookies too. A fun evening!!

Today.....Ron and I went out on our own....we decided to go see the guys at the common Pantry....we did get on a wrong subway train, we were headed downtown instead of uptown!! A kind soul in the train helped us find our right train. He led us there and then said, now stand right here!! The guys gave us a tour of the pantry...we met Omar and Jose. Then we headed to Grand Central station... Thomas thought we should eat at Los Taco's....we walked up there, too long of a line, so we skipped lunch!! Shopped Barnes and Noble for a New York coffee table book. Guests and company sign in them!! And another NYC gift store...I bought a tote/ hand bag to carry with me. Once home we had a little lunch.

A guest of Jesse's just arrived! He is a chief at Sleepy Creek and just drove in...Tyson ....so Jesse will have company!!

And so that is the run - down from 3rd floor! Happy we are!
Later, Carol
